Marketing your private and business aviation business:

Do you know how and where to market your business for the best effect?

A common problem for businesses today is knowing how and where to market their business to best effect. Moreover once marketing spend is committed the problems continue in understanding which advertising dollars/pounds/Euros [add your currency] bring the customers in, provide returns and are the successful campaigns.

Adding to this problem many businesses only utilise a small handful of marketing channels.

The root cause to this today is that today many business owners and marketing departments are confused; overwhelmed, and hollered; told they must do this or that − all the added effort just to get the same results. Or worse still they do not know what to do with all the options in all the noise.

Marketing your business

The worst kind of marketing for the vast majority of product and service businesses is brand building. This is a game reserved for multinational corporations; but unfortunately most of us are exposed to this type of marketing from a young age and believe this is the way to market a business. It’s not for most; there is thank fully another way…

The other way to market your business is direct marketing. Direct marketing is where you are providing information, an offer and a reason to get in touch with you and to not pass over your advert. Therefore you are providing a reason to respond to your marketing. The added bonus to direct marketing when done right is it builds your brand too.

Examples of direct marketing include:
  • An offer to respond by calling your number…
  • A free consultation…
  • To visit a web site to receive something…
  • Driving potential buyers to your website with a product or service video and demonstration…

Here’s what’s important:

What is important in your marketing is to market a clear message, and secondly that your customers and potential customers see it and understand your value. That they are motivated to get in touch or find out more. To do this you need to be in the places where your customers are, and to appeal to them in a way that they respond to you… brand is one thing, but initiating a response is another…

So why not keep it simple? By advertising in a place where you know your potential customers go. The Aviation Bible from IPABA is the only combined online and printed publication for private and business aviation. We circulate copies to consumers of private and business aviation products and services; we distribute to FBO’s, maintenance centers, completion centers, aircraft operators… and more.

The beauty of such publication in-hand and online is that when your customer has a need, a requirement or a problem to solve they reach for a solution. The solution is either someone they know; have worked with before, or they look it up.

If they look it up, then they need to see you. What better than to be seen in your industry publication, in your category; to be seen to have membership of your industry association, accreditation and endorsements. You can have all of this with IAPBA on display in the ‘Aviation Bible’ directory. If your advert then gives them a reason to respond, perhaps through your offer, you have a winning multi-channel combination…

Here is what happens in reality…

You know how it works.

Potential customer has a requirement; they reach for the printed directory; they see your advertisement; some get directly in touch, and others check you out on the AviationBible.com. They find your listing and click to visit your profile page, they read your details, and offer. They then see your membership, endorsement and reviews; they are now motivated to do enquire about their business requirement with you. Some may even take the step to check out your website. When they see your message is consistent through all media, that is a healthy marketing mix; in fact it’s a marketing assault and it’s all working in your favour; that is powerful.

A listing in the Aviation Bible starts for free. If you wish to take more space and make it stand out, or even better you add an offer; then these multiple channel options are available to work for you more and more in your favour; all of wish complement each other and multiply your efforts.

Enhanced paid advertising options start at a reasonable £125/$200 for a year, and upwards. To view all the options download our media pack, or get in touch at the bottom of the page.

  2. Tracking and measurement

Enhanced marketing options

The great thing about the directory is it is a direct response medium that solves a problem; it is easy to track and we provide trends to those who sign up to enhanced packages. This is provided to you by your ‘Aviation Bible’ account manager.

We also are able to support in providing marketing by several other media channels; or a full marketing assessment and implementation. This can be implemented via several media; starting out with ‘Aviation Bible’ printed and aviationbible.com online advertising, and is followed up by Google Pay-per-click advertising to drive a response to your marketing and offer.
