Private & Business Aviation

At IAPBA we are advocates of private and business aviation.

We promote the use of aircraft by corporations and businesses; services such as air ambulance, express parcels, for charter and air taxi, and flying for pleasure.

These aircraft types include jet aircraft, turboprops, rotorcraft, single and multi-piston aircraft.

Private and business aviation activities globally create hundreds of thousands of jobs and tens of billions of dollars contributing significantly to local and national economies.

These benefits are realized through employment, business and tourism; from manufacturers and suppliers, to supporting services and visitor spend.

Without this activity essential transportation functions would be eliminated and the opportunities associated with them would be lost to the economies that they serve. Therefore, private and business aviation needs to be taken seriously and represented as a worldwide economic engine.

In the U.S. alone private and business aviation provides more than one percent of the United States overall GDP, accounting for 1.3 million jobs in professional services and manufacturing, and is by far the biggest market for private and business aviation. In terms of industry size and volume North America is the largest followed by Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Asia and Oceania.

Worldwide there are over 350,000 private and business aviation aircraft, and over 700,000 pilots involved in private and business aviation activities, to gain appreciation to the size of our industry.
